Continuing its efforts to tackle the public health challenges posed by heart health through the Unblocked movement, Novartis is excited to be conducting a program this year in South Korea, the ‘Visiting Vascular Health Counseling Center’.
The program has been facilitated by the signing of a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Novartis Korea, the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and the Korean Society of Interventional Cardiology in October 2023, intended to establish a dyslipidemia prevention and management system for citizens of Seoul
The Visiting Vascular Health Counseling Center’s main objectives are to educate Seoul citizens on vascular health management and raise awareness about dyslipidemia. The program will cover 28 corporate workplaces in Seoul throughout the year, providing metabolic syndrome and LDL-c testing for office workers. They will also offer one-on-one health consultation services with experts, as well as lectures by cardiologists on how to manage vascular health.
The first such visits were held on March 5 and 7 for around 100 total executives and employees of Chosun Hotels & Resorts, including Chosun Palace Seoul Gangnam and Westin Chosun Seoul. During these visits, the program conducted pre-diagnosis screenings for metabolic syndrome, including tests for waist circumference, blood pressure, fasting blood sugar, neutral fat, HDL cholesterol, and LDL cholesterol.
